The Observatory of Demography and Generational Diversity is born with the vocation to deepen in fundamental demographic questions and its economic-social derivatives.

It is integrated into the IE Center for Diversity in Global Management and the IE Center for Social Innovation and Sustainability similarly, within the ambit of the IE Foundation. Our research aims to be eminently applied and to be very focused on diversity and social innovation issues, and how these variables affect the world of the company. Companies are, therefore, our priority area of analysis and the recipients of our work.

We exploit the existing data, and we try to obtain those that we lack through surveys, focus groups and other own instruments that can be provided by collaborating with companies.

Our first research focuses on the activity of seniors in Spanish companies (2018), and our second inform covers different countries in Europe (2019).

The Observatory has extended its field of action to other scenarios with our third report Intergeneracionalidad: Oportunidad De Innovación Para La Empresa Y La Sociedad (2021) and its Executive Summary available in English: Intergenerationality: An Innovation Opportunity For Business And Society.

In 2023, the Observatory has published its new research through Europe and Latin America to contribute to the agenda of necessary initiatives to manage the increased senior population in organizations and the new intergenerational realities. It is necessary to encourage collaboration between generations as a strategy for generating economic and social value. You can read the research on COLABORACIÓN INTERGENERACIONAL FRENTE A LOS RETOS DE LA TRANSICIÓN DEMOGRÁFICA (Spanish only). Now, the Observatory is working on a new research.
